"We had a superb day’s birding at Huarcarpay and San Salvador Lakes in the High Andes outside Cusco with our guide Saturnino Llactahuaman on April 25th 2013. We only had one day available but Satrnino came to see us at our hostal the previous afternoon, armed with his laptop, and spent well over an hour showing us the possibilities and discussing what we might do. The trip was excellent in every respect – comfortable transport, good food (a substantial breakfast snack as we had started at 5 am, and then a tasty box lunch) and superb company and leadership from Saturnino. He found us 70 species, including four endemics. His knowledge both of the habitats and of the birds was exceptional, as was his fluent English. We would love to go on more trips with Amazon birding and have no hesitation in strongly recommending them to others."
